Dongjiu is one of the eight most famous Chinese spirits and one of the only two national spirits in Guizhou Province.It has been permanently classified as a “state secret” by the national authority.

董酒產於歷史文化和酒文化名城——遵義。
遵義,不僅以革命的轉折點聞名於世,還以釀酒之鄉而著稱。
1997年8月,成立貴州遵義振業董酒《集團》有限公司。
Dongjiu is produced in Zunyi,a famous city of history culture and liquor culture. Zunyi is not only famous for the turning point of revolution,but also known as the hometown of liquor making. In August 1997,established Guizhou Zunyi Zhenye Dongjiu (Group) Co.

Process & Flavor Characteristics
該酒采用優質高粱為原料,大米和95(另有一說為100)味中藥制成小曲,小麥加入40味中藥材制成大曲,再經酒醅、香醅串蒸後量質摘酒、分級陳釀、科學勾兌、精心包裝而成。
獨特工藝釀制而成的董酒,既有小曲酒的柔綿、醇和、回甜,又有大曲酒的濃鬱芳香,評酒專家評定董酒的獨特香型為其他香型,將其風格概括為:酒液清澈透明,香氣幽雅舒適,入口醇和濃鬱,飲後甘爽味長。
酒度有 59、54、41、38(命名為『董醇』)、28 度。
The liquor is made from high-quality sorghum,rice and 95 (or 100) Chinese herbs to make Xiaoqu,and wheat with 40 Chinese herbs to make Daqu,which is then steamed in a series of wine spirits and aromatic spirits,then plucked,graded and aged,scientifically blended,and carefully packaged. The Dong jiu made by this unique process has the softness,mellowness and sweetness of Xiaoqu wine,and the richness and aroma of Daqu wine. The unique aroma of Dongjiu is rated by wine experts as other aromatic types,and its style is summarized as follows: clear and transparent wine,elegant and comfortable aroma,mellow and rich in the mouth,and a long sweet taste after drinking. It is available in degrees 59,54,41,38 (named “Dongol”) and 28 degrees.

董酒的釀酒歷史十分悠久,《遵義府志》記載,這裡的釀酒歷史最早可追溯至魏晉時期。
及至清末,當地釀酒產業已經很繁榮,而其中最有名氣的就是程氏作坊,他們家的釀酒工藝傳承數代,所做的小曲酒非常有特色。
就在這個環境下,程家又誕生了一位釀酒奇才——程明坤。
程明坤雖然才24歲,但他把家族祖傳秘方和當地釀酒技藝進行結合,再加上自己對草藥的研究,用140種中草藥材入曲,研發出了『百草入曲、兩小兩大、雙醅串香』的工藝。
自此,中國白酒的一大流派——董香型誕生。
Dongjiu Liquor has a long history of brewing,with the Zunyi Prefectural Chronicle recording that the history of brewing here dates back as far as the Wei and Jin dynasties. By the end of the Qing Dynasty,the local brewing industry was already flourishing,and one of the most famous was the Cheng family’s workshop,whose brewing techniques had been passed down for generations and whose Xiaoqu wine was very distinctive. It was in this environment that the Cheng family gave birth to another brewing wizard,Cheng Mingkun. Although Cheng Mingkun was only 24 years old,he combined his family’s secret recipe with local brewing techniques,and with his own research into herbs,he used 140 types of Chinese herbs in the bent,and developed the process of “100 herbs in the bent,two small and two large,double spirits in a string”. This led to the birth of the Dong Xiang type,a major school of Chinese Baijiu.
抗日戰爭時期,來董公寺踐行實地的教授們認為董酒是”藥食同源””酒藥同源”真正釀酒起源的傳承者。
“董”字寓意”百草”,”董”字本身的文化內涵與董酒的文化內涵具有傳奇般的巧合。
隨即,教授們提議將此酒命名為”董酒”,希望董酒繼續秉承”藥食同源””酒藥同源”的人類釀酒真諦、傳承發揚”百草之酒”。
從此,董酒命名開來,蜚聲大江南北。
During the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression,professors who came to Dong Gong Temple to practise in the field considered Dongjiu Liquor to be the inheritor of the true origin of brewing “medicine and food from the same source” and “liquor and medicine from the same source”. The word “Dong” means “hundred herbs”,and the cultural connotation of the word “Dong” itself is a legendary coincidence with that of Dongjiu. The professors then proposed naming the liquor “Dongjiu” in the hope that Dong would continue to uphold the true meaning of human winemaking as “medicine and food come from the same source” and “wine and medicine come from the same source” and carry forward the “wine of a hundred herbs”. Since then,Dong Wine has been named “Dongjiu” and has become famous in China.

董酒自1957年恢復生產以來,使用的商標共改變了5~6次,有『金鼎』牌《俗稱『董公寺』牌》、『湘江』牌、『紅城』牌,再到現在使用的『董』牌。
外銷董酒則使用『飛仙』牌《即『飛天』牌》。
Since the resumption of production in 1957,the trademark used for Dongjiu has changed five to six times,from the “Jinding” brand (commonly known as the “Dong Gongsi” brand),the “Xiangjiang” brand,the “Hongcheng” brand,to the “Dong” brand now in use. For export,Dongjiu uses the “Feixian” brand (or “Feitian” brand).

如今,建國前的『董酒』市場上已經絕跡,市場上流通的老董酒都是1957年恢復生產後的產品。
其中,1993年之前的老董酒,還含有虎骨等成分,就真的是喝一瓶少一瓶。
